Bargarh is a newly created district from the part of Sambalpur District. It is also known as the Rice bowl of Odisha. This western district is surrounded by Chhattisgarh state in the north and Sambalpur, Balangir Subarnapur, and Nuapada District of Odisha. Bargarh is famous for its "Dhanu Yatra" festival in Odisha.
